There are some great fashion sites and blogs out there that any fashionista should checkout. They are a great place to share within a community of like minded people and it’s also perfect for finding new ideas of things you want or want to create. Here are 7 excellent sites that we recommend:
- http://streetpeeper.com: A look at street fashions from around the world. Also has a search function where you can seek out an particular style or keyword.
- http://www.polyvore.com/: An interactive site where you can create image collages from different products to put together a stylish look that is all you. Or, peruse the site for products or other peoples sets that they have created. Click the link to view sets that have patent vinyl: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/search.sets?query=patent+vinyl
- http://www.burdastyle.com/: Burda is a well known pattern company and they have done an excellent job creating a site where you can checkout their latest offerings, upload pictures of your latest creations, share with other Burda users, and read articles on sewing and garment construction.
- http://www.stylefeeder.com: It’s a personal shopping engine that tries to learn your preferences and style so that it makes recommendations on clothes, accessories, and home decor inline with your preferences. Sort of like having a personal stylist who shops the web on your behalf. They have a slick interface and it can work if you typically shop by brand, however, it wasn’t that easy to shop by specific search terms.
- http://www.stylemob.com/: Post a photo and let users around the world rate your style. Kind of like ‘hotornot’ but for fashion.
- http://aerynnisabelle.blogspot.com/: Aerynn Isabelle has a blog focused on makeup, culture, art, and latex fashions. She’s a model, photographer, and artist from the U.K. and her posts are insightful and edgy.
- http://streetsiknow.blogspot.com: Melanie Pyves blogs about vegan friendly fashions. Her posts are a mix of eclectic, mod, and current trends that are always animal and environmentally friendly.
As always we would love to hear from you. Drop us a comment and let us know your favorites blogs and sites.

Polyvore has always been my go-to for mood boards, and your mention of browsing other users’ sets reminds me how much I learn just by seeing how others combine pieces.
Aerynn Isabelle’s mix of latex fashion with broader art and culture content makes her blog stand out, and I appreciate that you highlighted her perspective as both a model and photographer.
BurdaStyle really does feel like a full community rather than just a pattern catalog, especially with users uploading their own garments and discussing construction techniques.
The mix of community-driven platforms like BurdaStyle and more discovery-focused ones like StreetPeeper gives a nice balance between creating your own looks and finding new inspiration.
The note about StyleFeeder struggling with specific search terms matches my experience, even though the personalized recommendations can feel surprisingly accurate after a few sessions.
StreetPeeper’s search feature for specific styles is what sold me; being able to jump from Tokyo streetwear to Paris chic in a few clicks is incredibly useful for inspiration.
I like that you pointed out Polyvore’s patent vinyl search link, because those niche queries are exactly how I end up discovering pieces I wouldn’t normally think to look for.
StreetPeeper feels like a global snapshot of real people’s style rather than curated editorials, which makes it way more relatable when I’m trying to build everyday outfits.
I hadn’t considered StyleFeeder as a kind of personal stylist before, but that description makes sense, especially if you tend to stick with certain brands.
It’s refreshing to see Streets I Know included, since vegan and environmentally conscious fashion blogs don’t always get the same spotlight as mainstream style sites.
StyleMob being compared to hot-or-not for outfits is spot on, and it’s kind of addictive seeing how different people interpret trends and get rated by others.
