DIY leather spy / ninja mask

BY admin on October 30, 2015

While some of us have been eagerly anticipating Halloween for weeks now, others might not have realized the holiday is only days away. Don’t fret, there’s still time to whip up a cool costume for All Hallow’s Eve. Check out this simple tutorial of How to Make a Black Leather Spy Mask from blogger Magical Daydream.

  1. First, gather together some faux leather fabric, paper and a pair of scissors. If you happen to have an extra mask lying around, you can use it to create your pattern, but if not, don’t worry too much about it.
  2. Take the piece of paper, fold it in half and trace the outline of the mask. If you don’t have a mask, just draw a rough outline of what you want your mask to look like.
  3. Using the scissors, cut out the mask and create small eye holes with the paper still folded.
  4. Next, use your paper pattern and lie it down on your faux leather fabric. Trace it and then cut it out carefully with the scissors.
  5. After that, measure out two thin strips of fabric which will act as the straps for the mask. Customize the length to fit as desired, but remember, it’s better to make it a little longer than necessary rather than short.
  6. Use a sewing machine or stitch the straps onto the back of the mask by hand.

The final result is simple, totally genius and chic! Not only will you have saved yourself time, money and the chaos of visiting your local party store, you’ll have the pride of knowing you made this marvelous creation by hand.

It’s time to take a sigh of relief, your Halloween costume is officially completed. Head out with the squad, don your leather mask and recreate the Crazy 88 henchmen from the Kill Bill series. Or, go solo with an all black look, hat and signature sword and dress up as the Legend of Zorro. From a deadly assassin to an enigmatic spy, the possibilities are endless with a chic black mask. It’s easy to have a sense of mystery hidden behind a mask, so create your own intriguing look with faux leather fabric from MJTrends.
