DIY Spiked Hat Headband

BY admin on November 27, 2016

Felt hats have seriously taken the fashion world by storm, but just like anything else, eventually you yearn for something new. Instead of buying a new hat altogether, give your beloved fedora a much-needed rework by adding a spiked hat headband.

Jenni at ispydiy has put together a great tutorial on how to use our gold spikes to make this eye catching update:

  1. First, you’ll need to get a strip of leather fabric to wrap around your hat, a leather punch, studs or spikes and a pair of scissors.
  2. Start by measuring out the circumference of your hat and then cut out two pieces of leather. These strips should fit around the entire hat and slightly overlap when wrapped around.
  3. Use the leather punch to poke two holes along the leather piece.
  4. Attach each stud, and then connect both ends of the leather strip.
  5. For the last step, simply place it on your hat and glue in place—you’re done!

The finished product looks edgy yet cool, the two best perks about wearing a hat. Save yourself from a bad hair day, simply grab this rockin’ hat and head out the door. Style with a flowy cardigan, mock neck dress and over the knee boots for a bold autumn look.
