Hi, I am a furniture manufacturer and we make a furniture for the hospitality industry. The dining chairs need fabric and they ask for latex backing. I want to understand what it is used for and how can I get this done?

A lot of people confuse latex with vinyl. Typically you wouldn't use latex sheeting for furniture manufacture, but that's not to say that you couldn't. Latex is not a fabric, it is pure rubber - so it does rip. You would need to glue the latex instead of stapling or sewing it.
You can always order a couple swatches of latex or vinyl and see what works best.
