eyelets and rivets

hello to all! Im having a hard time adding eyelets to my latex garment. Ive tried with the punch tool and hammer, then I tried with the eyelet pliers. It just does not work! I cant seem to punch the holes! Any tricks or...

I use a leather hole punch. It is very effective.   Hope that helps
