Article written by Antrice AllureBound - provider of skillfully crafted latex garments for all body types.

Step 1: Gather materials

Gather your materials:

  1. 1/4 yard of latex sheeting (0.30mm or 0.5mm)
  2. Latex Adhesive
  3. Rotary Cutter
  4. Latex Thinner
  5. Seam Roller
  6. White Gel pen
  7. Paper Towl

Step 2: Cut the pieces

  1. Cut 1 8.5in width x 7in height rectangle for mask body.
  2. Cut 4 .5in width x 18in length strips for ties.
  3. Cut 2 1in width x 3in length for reinforcement binding

Step 3: Clean and prep

Clean each piece of latex by putting a bit of thinner on a paper towel and whipping it across the gluing area. ( you will need to do the front and the back or each piece)

Once your pieces are clean you will need to mark your pleats on the mask body rectangle on the 7" side.

Starting from the top. Make a marking at 1", 1.5", 2.5", 3", 4", 4.5", 5.5", & 6" on both sides.

Step 4: Apply Adhesive

Glue the front and back on both sides 1/2in from the edge.

Step 5: Glue the Pleats

Begin pleating by folding at the first mark to the second mark and so on until all 4 knife pleats are made.

Repeat on the other side.

Step 6: Glue the straps

Apply glue 1" up from the bottom of each of the 4 ties, front and back on one end only.

Place ties along the edge of the pleated side of the mask body at the top and bottom. Do this to the left and right front of the mask.

Glue the wrong side of both reinforcement strips.

Place the reinforcement strips half way on top of the ties covering the ties and pleats.

Fold the reinforcement strip over to the backside of the mask body.

Step 7: Roll the pleats and straps

Roll over your pleats with the seam roller and your all done! I hope you enjoyed our tutorial!
